A one shot I made for Dragon Warriors adapted to digital format. Lighthearted and fun exploration of an underground bunker.

"skeleton", "dog", "snake", "lizard" and "spider" all start as "grey"This is it, according to the map, this is where the entrance to the hidden bunker is. It doesn't look like much... There's a few [[large rocks->Entrance Rocks]], some [[shrubs->Entrance Shrubs]], and a [[giant mountain->Entrance Description]] surrounded by [[forest->Entrance Forest]]. Oh and the [[path back to town (restart game, permanent action)->Give Up]] of course. You inspect the large rocks at the base of the mountain and notice something curious: there is one large boulder that appears nearly perfectly round and flat, propped up against the cliff face. [[Look closer->Inspect Boulder]] or attempt to [[move the boulder (permanent action)->Push Boulder]].
[[Return->Start]]You examine the shrubbery. Some of the bushes have [[bright red berries->Examine Berries]]. Nothing else really stands out about the bushes.
[[Return->Start]]You take a step back and observe the mountain in all its scale. That's a big ass mountain. But looking at its peak isn't giving you any hints to entering the bunker.
[[Return->Start]]The forest is dark and menacing. A shiver runs down your spine as you try not to think about all the stories of people straying from the path and never being heard from again. Could be faeries, could be mother nature reminding mankind who's really in charge. Whatever your belief system, venturing into the forest is a bad idea.
[[Return->Start]]You give up on your quest and go home.

[[Return->Start]]Start the game without any specialised knowledge. Could be considered "hard mode" but really just a debug "class" that may or may not still be available to play as.(set: $class to "Null")
[[Play without a class->Start]] or [[Return->Welcome and Disclaimer]](if: $class is "Mason")[Inspecting the boulder closer, the edge on one side seems smoother than the other edges. After a well placed shove, the boulder starts rolling, picks up speed, and crashes into neighbouring rocks.(if: $class is "Mason")[ Whatever mechanism was in place before, it is now nonfunctional.]
In the space behind where the boulder sat, yawns a crack in the side of the mountain. Its jagged edges look far from inviting, but this is what you came to investigate.
This is it, no turning back now. [[Venture into the mountain->Main Hallway]].Masons know minerals, stones, architecture.(set: $class to "Mason")
[[Play as the Mason->Start]] or [[Return->Welcome and Disclaimer]]The interior of the mountain is dark, very dark. Luckily you anticipated this and brought a lighting bauble with you. You light the bauble and squint as your eyes adjust to the light level.
You find yourself in a long hallway with crude walls and several openings along both sides:
[[First lefthand opening->Kitchen]] --- [[First righthand opening->Dorm]]
[[Second lefthand opening->Lavatory]] --- [[Second righthand opening->Weapon Storage 1]]
[[Third lefthand opening->Weapon Storage 2]] --- [[Third righthand opening->Training Hall]]The path opens up into what appears to be a dining room with a kitchen attached.
The dining section has a few wooden [[tables and benches->Inspect Tables]], a couple of [[barrels->Inspect Barrels]], and a [[shelving unit->Inspect Shelf]].
The kitchen section has a [[large table->Inspect Kitchen Counter]], and a few [[crates->Inspect Crates]].
[[Return to hallway->Main Hallway]].The path opens up to a large room decked out to be sleeping quarters. Rows of [[bunks->Inspect Beds]] line the walls. There is a central [[rug->Inspect Rug]] curiously untouched by time, and at the far end of the room there is a [[small table with two chairs->Inspect Chess]].
[[Return->Main Hallway]].This room appears to be a lavatory, complete with [[stalls->Inspect Stalls]], [[shelving->Inspect Toilet Storage]], [[shower heads->Inspect Showers]], a [[bath->Inspect Bath]] and a [[drain->Inspect Drain]] in the centre of the room.
[[Return to hallway->Main Hallway]].This alcove is nothing more than a storage closet. Some rotten and rusted weapons lie strewn across the ground and against the walls.
[[Return->Main Hallway]].This alcove is nothing more than a storage closet. Some rotten and rusted weapons lie strewn across the ground and against the walls.
[[Return->Main Hallway]].The alcove opens up to a large circular room. In the centre of the room there is an [[elevated platform->Inspect Rink]] boxed in by four posts. On the far end of the room in a [[panel->Inspect Puzzle]] with coloured lights blinking.
[[Return->Main Hallway]].The wood is old and rotten, your nose alone is enough to tell you never to eat at these tables. A cursory glance tells you the tables are covered in [[graffiti->Graffiti 1]] scratched into the surfaces.
[[Return->Kitchen]].The barrels are tucked away in the corner of the room. A few are lying in pieces but two of them seem relatively undamaged. One of the barrels has a plaque with a symbol shaped like a teardrop and the symbol on the other barrel's plaque is the universally known symbol for alcohol.
[[Open the "teardrop" barrel->Inspect Water Barrel]] --- [[Open the "alcohol" barrel->Inspect Wine Barrel]]
[[Return->Kitchen]].The shelving unit used to hold crockery and cutlery. From the looks of it, the contents were cheap even when they were new. Cracked and shattered plates, rusted spoons and knives, a notable shortage of forks compared to other utensils.(if: $class is "Medic")[ Touching those rusted edges would //definitely// poison your blood, no way are you risking that.](else:)[

[[Return->Kitchen]].The large table appears to have served as food prep counter. There is an ancient cutting board now fused to the hard wood of the table and some cracked platters. Nothing else really stands out about this table.
[[Return->Kitchen]].Three crates line the wall, each with an inscribed plaque on the lid. Two of them the universal symbol for "food" and the third has an odd shape that on closer inspection appears to be a canine head shape.

[[Play as the Doctor->Start]] or [[Return->Welcome and Disclaimer]]You cut your finger on the rusty knife and pull back. Why did you think that was a good idea? You already have far better weapons.
[[Return->Inspect Shelf]].You pry open the lid and it gives way with a groan. Peering inside with the light bauble, you see a mostly clear fluid(if: $hasCup is "false")[ with a darker lump at the bottom. In the low light is it hard to make out what the lump could be].

[[Taste the fluid (permanent action)->Taste Wine]] or [[close the lid->Inspect Barrels]].You use your (if: $hasCup is "true")[cup](else:)[hand] to scoop some of the fluid up and bring it to your lips. It tastes like old water. You grimace and wonder why you tried tasting mystery fluid but no harm done this time.
[[Return->Inspect Water Barrel]].You plunge your hand into the fluid. It is cold and gives way easily. You feel around in the fluid until your hand touches the lump. It is hard and oldly shaped. Pulling it up you realise it is a ceramic mug. You now have a cup, it has been added to your inventory.(set: $hasCup to "true")
[[Return->Inspect Water Barrel]].You use your (if: $hasCup is "true")[cup](else:)[hand] to scoop some of the fluid up and bring it to your lips. The smell is overpowering this close and you nearly gag, but you've already commited. You block your nose and cautiously take a sip.
You [[black out->Black Out]].Your head is pounding, it's completely dark, you can't even remember where you are or why reality is the way it is. You try to move your fingers and find that you are paralysed. Panic tries to set in but the poison in your blood dulls even that and you find yourself drifting in and out of the world until finally the darkness takes your mind away and you feel bliss.
Ending.
[[Restart->Welcome and Disclaimer]].You lift the lid to the crate and are greeted with the overpowering smell of mould. Covering your nose you peer inside and see a lumpy substance covered in the dead strands of a once thriving mould community.(if: $class is "Herbalist")[ You realise this crate once contained bread, and you grimace in a mix of revulsion and fascination at the cycle of life that grew and died here.](else-if: $class is "Medic")[ Whatever was once stored here is no longer safe to eat.](else:)[ Would you like to [[taste the dead mould (permanent action)->Eat Mould]]?]

[[Close the lid->Inspect Crates]]You lift the lid to the crate. You don't need any specialised knowledge to recognise what's in this crate. It's bones. [[Return->Inspect Crates]].You use your (if: $hasCup is "true")[cup](else:)[hand] to scoop some of the mouldy substance up and bring it to your lips. You inhale more than swallow it and start coughing violently.
You [[black out->Black Out]].You grab a large bone and add it to your inventory. You never know when you might need a spare bone, after all.(set: $hasBone to "true")
[[Return->Inspect Bone Crate]].There are three stalls along the left side of the room.(set: $toiletFlushed to false)

[[Return->Lavatory]].Two shelves containing the remains of [[bathroom linen->Inspect Towels]], [[soaps->Inspect Soaps]], and a [[box of odds and ends->Inspect Toilet Box]].
[[Return->Lavatory]]Three shower heads line the wall. They have a basic on/off valve along their pipes but nothing else to note.
[[Return->Lavatory]].The drain is a large square grate set over a hole in the rock.(if: $class is "Mason")[ The archetecture here is ingenious. You marvel at how the builders managed to use the natural rock formations to create a functional drainage system. No doubt emptied into an underground lake far below the current altitude.](else:)[ Hard to imagine how they made a functional drain inside a cave, but then again you aren't a builder.]
Trapped in the rock crevices below the grate are a few shiny items. On closer insepction they appear to be loose change. There is also at least one fork, rusted through and through. The grate is too old and heavy to move so the items will likely remain there indefinitely.
[[Return->Lavatory]].(if: $class is "Mason")[This bath is an exceptional work of human engineering with limited space and materials. The bath itself features a basic manual pump but it's the rest of the setup that leaves you marvelling and taking notes for your next project.
Below the bath is a pile of coals, standard heating for a bath, but what sets it as different is the presence of a pipe directly from the bath drain to over the coals. This would allow the fire to be put out instantly with the turn of a lever, dousing it in water. Another pipe, also originating from the bath drain, carries water to both the [[shower heads->Inspect Showers]] and the [[bathroom stalls->Inspect Stalls]]. [[Return->Secret Stall]].(set: $toiletSecret to "true")You pull the lever.
From behind you, between the toilet and stall door, a previously [[concealed passage->Toilet Tunnel]] opens up.
[[Return->Secret Stall]].You descend into a triangular room and the the entrance clicks shut behind you. Around you the ground is covered in bones and in the opposing corner there is a chest.
You run to the chest, this is it, you've won! You've found the treasure!
You kneel down in front of the chest and start rattling the lid trying to open it. So focused are you on the chest that you fail to notice the rattling of bones behind you.
You get the chest open and inside is a mirror. You frown, raising the mirror up, only to see a skeleton behind you with a sword about to swing down on you.
The last thing you see is your own horrified face.

[[Return->Inspect Chess]].You spend some time lining up the pieces on the board and you determine that the following are missing: one white rook, a knight from both black and white, a black bishop, three white pawns and 2 black pawns.

"Training is rough. We fight monsters in the training hall, only they aren't real monsters. There's a magic summoning panel that Commander Finn adjusts the difficulty for."
"Some of the other guys say there are secret combinations to the difficulty adjustment. Pretty sure they just want to see someone get in trouble for going in there unsupervised."
"Jerome left a week ago, didn't say goodbye, just disappeared. Commander Finn held a meeting about following orders the next day. It's weird because I could have sworn Jerome was just going to the bathroom last I heard from him."
"Anyone who uses the 'Champion's Code' is a lunatic. Very funny, guys, that's how you get killed. 'Secret combinations' my ass."
